NoseGo Vinyl Toy Launch Party & Custom Show
Come celebrate the launch of local artist Nose G’s first ever toy project. There will be a gallery installation as well as a custom show! Hey, and if that were not enough we are also celebrating the new location for Jinxed at the Piazza.
Free parking is available (yes free parking in Philly … I know, hard to believe) and we will be giving out some cool NoseGo stickers.

The Strangeness: Unknown Preggers and Baby-Nipple-Suckers
This week has been a disturbing week for me. Just Thursday, my co-worker brought up the absurd topic of women going into labor without knowing they were pregnant. I mean, you have to be pretty “big” to begin with, to not know you’re 8 months preggers. And seriously when did contractions became the equivalent pain as diarrhea cramps? I guess some girls got it really easy, so easy as if pregnancy is just another walk in the park. Fuck.
But this morning, I get this crazy text message about a breast-feeding doll. Apparently, a Spanish toy-making company, Berjuan, decided to launch a new doll that makes slurping sounds as the baby is supposedly sucking on nipples. The company designed a special halter top that has a daisy flower covering the girl’s nipple that can be unbuttoned when feeding the doll and re-buttoned afterward, sick. I don’t know if these types of toys should be sold at the local Toys-R-Us, I think it should be sold at the local Spencer… Baby-Nipple-Sucker would be a perfect gift for a friend who has man-bobbies. What kinda girly-man, doesn’t like his nipples sucked?
Hot Toys Michael Jackson Thriller Figure
Paying tribute to the King of Pop, premier vinyl specialists Hot Toys work up a new set of Michael Jackson figures, showcasing the masterful work exhibited on his famous Thriller music video. The figures will come in a 1/6 scale, featuring all the intricate details one would come to expect from a Hot Toys release. A launch is set for December 2009 with a suggest retail price tag of ¥24,000 (Approx. $255 USD).

Where The Wild Things Are Kubrick Set
The much anticipated release of director Spike Jonze’s live-action adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s classic children’s book, Where The Wild Things Are, is just around the corner. To commemorate the movie, Medicom Toy will be releasing the “Where The Wild Things Are” Kubrick set, featuring overall 6 characters from the movie. Due to come out in October 2009, the Kubrick Set can already be pre-ordered at many toy stores around the globe.

Mickey Mouse Transformer
Tomy is releasing a Disney label Mickey Mouse Optimus Prime Transformer figure in Japan. On display at the Tokyo Toy Forum 2009, the toy will go on sale in February 2009 for 3,610 yen (or about $38.57).

Bearbrick Series 17
The new Bearbrick Series 17 has been released in Japan this week. As usual there are some exciting additions for collectors out there. Our favorites include the Jelly Bean, Mickey Mouse and SF versions in the new series. Good luck getting them all and finding the hidden ones in the new series.
Medicom also presents two new 400% Bearbricks. The Mickey Mouse Bearbrick that comes in series 17 in a 100% version, is also being released in a 400% version. Also Medicom presents a 400% version of the formerly released Suicidal Tendencies Bearbrick.

Toy2R Pop-Up Shop! (Chinatown Bus)
D.B.A. Brooklyn, New York’s newest lifestyle goods shop, has teamed up with Hong Kong-based vinyl toy company Toy2R to create a 10-day pop-up shop to celebrate the release of the latest toys from renowned artist Frank Kozik. Featuring his signature theme of characters with cigarettes and attitude, Frank Kozik’s latest 2.5″ Redrum Qee series, 2″ Potamus mini-figures, and just in time for the holidays, the Kozik Party Fun Pack of Merry Mini Bombs Twin Pack will be making their stateside pre-release debut to the public. Classic Kozik, and other Toy2R collectibles will also be available for this limited time engagement.
The Pop-Up shop kicks off with a launch party featuring music from DJ Erick LaPeau, and DJ Ryo at the store on on Friday Nov. 7th from 6-11pm.
Check out the pre-release products that will be available at the pop-up shop. Remember! They will be the first and only shop to get these items before anyone else in the country, so be sure to breeze through early if you want to get your hands on em before anybody else!

Dun.. Dun… Dunnys!
It’s that time of year again! Kidrobot’s new series of Dunnys just came out and they are as fresh as ever! This batch has designs from Huck Gee, Mad Barbarians, Jesse LeDoux, Kathie Olivas plus 14 other top shelf artists. My local source for getting these guys sold out nearly instantly so I had to turn to other means, Id est :the internet. But rumor has it, Brave New World should be getting a shipment in any day and if all else fails you’ll eventually be able to find them at Urban Outfitters.
