Yesterday’s Mad Decent Blog Party was out of control. Check out some of the scenes [here]
Wings Would Be An Advantage For This One

This Saturday, McJAWN encourages you to sign up for the Red Bull Block-to-Block contest. A race that will have your team biking, running and skating to 3 different block parties. Yes, block parties. In no particular order, you’ll have your Nocturnal Skate Shop block party near south street, the Mad Decent block party on Spring Garden, and the your 2.1.5. Magazine Issue 5 Release Party in University City.
Best believe that the McJAWN team will be there and we’re planning on taking home the trophy. Mad Decent plans on bringing out the kids: DJ Sega, Diplo, Toadally Krossed Out, Maluca, Dirty South Joe, POPO, Brick Bandits, Blaqstarr, Nadastrom, Sammy Slice and others.

Diplo filler
I guess everyone is having to much fun on spring break to update, but since I go to non existent university and I get no spring break I still got time for this jawn. I was googling traveling to Rio and found this. It is old but interesting if you have not seen it yet, heres Diplo talking about “Favelas on Blast”
Diplo on Playboy’s Rock The Rabbit
So, I was surfing 51:51 and I found this article about Diplo on the Playboy site. Hot shit, of course I had to read it. I can’t believe the name Diplo is derived from Dinosaurs. If you didn’t know my BBM and AIM screennames are Wenosaurus. Rawwwwr. Dinosaurs rules and so does Diplo.
PLAYBOY: Tell us about your best gig of the year.
DIPLO: It was the closing night of my most recent U.S. tour. We sold out a big venue in Philly—1300 kids. And it was my birthday. I bought 125 pizzas and we had a giant pizza party and all my friends were there with cupcakes. Yes! It went off—absolutely nuts.
PLAYBOY: Do you have a pregame ritual?
DIPLO: I think people expect DJs to smoke weed. But that’s no good. It would make me want to play deep house. Often I’ll just try to set up some new tricks for that night.
PLAYBOY: Mike Jones, you’re the art director for the Mad Decent record label and you worked on the T-shirt graphic. What was your inspiration?
JONES: I’ve had an interest in Playboy specifically and pinups in general since an early age, so when Mad Decent was asked to contribute my mind immediately went to work. The only thing I really took into consideration when brainstorming was that the design also captured the diversity of Mad Decent. The finished design was inspired by a 1980s bachelor party aesthetic, which I felt symbolized the sexuality and fun of Playboy.

Clearing Up Rumors About DIPLO Tomorrow Night
This is what was posted on the mad decent blog:
“Tickets are still available. $10. Online at r5 Productions website and Deep Sleep (53 N 3rd Street)
Show is All Ages / 21+ To Drink / $10
Advance Ticket gets :
Free Pizza for DIPLO’S bday first come first serve – (125 pizzas are being ordered)
Free admission to Mausoleum afterparty w/ ticket (we give an after party ticket at door – first come first serve”
R5:
“Check it, so for just $10 you get admission to the DIPLO show on Friday at The Starlight with special guests Abe Vigoda, Blaqstarr, Telepathe, Boy 8 Bit, you get lots of pizza, if you are 21+ you can drink lots (and if your not – well you can see Diplo for the first time in Philly cause he has only played 21+ events!) and then you get into the free afterparty which will have free alcohol (sparks, beer, vodka & redbulls etc). In 2008 nothing costs $10 these days – check out the prices to our other shows below. This is all because Diplo wants to really just make it a big crazy fun night and doesn’t care about “getting paid”. We honestly think that’s the best (seriously – so many artists are total money hungry crazy people) and want to make sure this really does go off.
BUT YOU CAN ONLY GO TO THE AFTER PARTY WITH THE PURCHASE OF AN ADVANCED TICKET. None of this, “can my friend get in nonsense.” YOU HAVE TO BUY A TICKET TO GET IN. You can get the advance tickets online or at Deep Sleep (53 N 3rd Street) or of course online at r5productions.com”
